Getting a Tattoo !!! What are the Associated Risks? Part 7

In general, when you go to get a tattoo, everything will go without any trouble, at all. However, there may be some special cases that may prove to be problematic. Some instances within which the application of a tattoo may face some issues include:

If the equipment that is used to do the tattoo is not kept clean and is not being sterilized before use, then you can put yourself at risk of contracting viral infections, such as hepatitis, tetanus, bacterial skin infections or dermatitis.

Another reason may be because some people may have an allergic reaction to the ink. In the event that you have a skin condition such as eczema, you may experience a flare up of the condition, as a result of the tattoo.

If you decide to do the tattoo for yourself or even if you decide to allow a friend to do the tattoo for you, instead of going to a professional to have the service rendered, you may face serious complications. So, it is important that you always have your tattoos done by a professional.

You can get skin infections from some tattoos. You know that you have a skin infection, when you experience redness, swelling and pain, as well as a pus-like drainage from the tattooed area. You may also find yourself having other skin disorder such as bumps, known as granulomas. You may also find that keloids may appear.

Tattoos may be the cause of complications, in the event that you will have to do an M.R.I. Even though this is rare, you may want to note that tattoos can cause a burning or swelling during an M.R.I. exam. Sometimes, the pigment of the tattoo can interfere with the image from the M.R.I.
