The Flying Squad and Half-Way Tree Police spent much of yesterday in search of clues into the theft of goods valuing in excess of $30 million at the Appliance Traders' Limited (ATL).
The police have confirmed a break-in at the Half-Way Tree Road store of ATL on Tuesday night.
Head of the Flying Squad Superintendent Cornwall 'Bigga' Ford confirmed that a team from his squad had started its probe.
Ford told The Gleaner that preliminary estimates suggest the missing appliances are estimated to be worth approximately $30 million.
A source close to the scene said the hoodlums entered the facility through a hole that they had carved out in the roof.
Staff members were greeted with the scene of the theft of an assortment of appliances when they arrived at the facility early yesterday.
