JOE ALLEN will be a Kop idol after Liverpool triggered his release clause at Swansea. 

The Reds hit the £15million magic figure that lets the midfield ace quit.

And today Allen, 22, meets his Swans boss Michael Laudrup and will tell him he wants to rejoin his former gaffer Brendan Rodgers on Merseyside.

Rodgers agreed not to raid his ex-employers for players but, when Spurs also showed an interest, it became an open market.

The small print of Allen's terms meant Swansea would not stand in his way if any would-be buyer came up with the asking price. 

The deal is expected to go through by the end of the weekend.

It was the second piece of good news in 48 hours for Rodgers after Luis Suarez signed a new treble-your-money £120,000-a-week, four-year deal on Tuesday.
