Young Money's Nicki Minaj has decided to keep fans on their toes by promising to announce the title of her Pink Friday follow-up next September.


Promising a September announcement, Minaj said her sophomore album would be released within a year.
"You'll get another album within 12 months," she told KIIS FM's JoJo. "You'll get the announcement for the next album in--and I'm saying the announcement--that you'll get the announcement in September. That's all." But for now she'll stay busy promoting her new single "Super Bass" and its video, set to arrive in the next week. Videos for "Did It On'em" and "Fly," her collaboration with Rihanna, have also been shot. 

Last month, Minaj said an album release date would cause her competition to alter their projects.
However, she already has a release date in mind for her sophomore set -- though she's reluctant to broadcast the info. "I can give you an idea," she said, coyly. "But I don't want to. I'd rather not right now. Because then everybody is gonna jump on the bandwagon and say they're putting out their album the same day." (MTV)

To date, Minaj's debut album has sold over 1.3 million copies.
Young Money star Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday fell from Top 20 this week moving down five slots to No. 31 with 14,900. With 21 weeks knocked out, her debut album rests at 1,313,200 sold copies. 

Earlier this month, the rap star opened up about her fame.
"To know that I'm 'making waves,' it feels good but it gives me a little more pressure. Because before, I would do things without thinking," she said. "I would do an interview without thinking or wear something without thinking, but it makes me put a lot more thought because now, I know people are going to pick it apart. Whether they love or hate it, people are going to pick it apart...It comes with the territory. You want to be one of those females in the business that people want to see what you're going to wear and what you're going to do and what you're going to say...I just take the good with the bad. I cannot complain. I've been living my dream, and I wouldn't trade it for the world."
