SHARON Marley, the daughter of Reggae King Bob Marley, had her bail extended when she appeared in the Corporate Area Family Court on Tuesday to answer to child cruelty charges.Marley was arrested and charged after the mother of a six-year-old boy, who attends a learning centre she operates, lodged a complaint with the police that Marley had physically abused her child.
The child was reportedly playing with a toy when Marley allegedly carried him inside a room. Shortly after, the child was heard screaming. It is also alleged that the child had bruises and bite marks.
The boy, who is autistic, is the son of a woman who works at the learning centre which is located at Lady Musgrave Road. Marley was ordered to return to court on November 8. Family court cases are held in camera, which means that the media and members of the public are barred from watching proceedings there.
