Recording artiste Deva Bratt says he has not been getting his fair share of airplay on radio stations.

The artiste, who came on to the music scene in 2000 with a song called Penalized for Jam 2 Records, says, the industry is unfair.

The artiste, who is a former member of the Portmore Empire, says that since leaving the group, his career has taken a turn for the worst.

"If you are not aligned to a particular group in the industry, you will be pushed out," he told THE STAR.

The seemingly disgruntled entertainer says that he is not missing from the scene; however, the lack of rotation makes it appear that way. "I am recording songs, but they are not being played, so it would seem like they only care for some artistes and don't view some," he said.

The artiste also said that there was a stigma attached to him due to the Gaza-Gully conflict, and this created barriers in terns of being able to record for a wide range of producers.

Deva Bratt, who received significant amount of success for his single Bungle A Gal, produced by Fresh Air Records, says that the single gave him a good start, and there are fans who are yearning to hear his music.

"Mi fans dem a look out fi mi music, and dem naah hear it unless dem guh pan YouTube," he said. Songs like Figure You Out produced by J Wizzle and Nymphomaniac produced by Baby G, that he claims are released, have not been getting any significant airplay.

"Mi talent nuh disappear, mi still have it, but the industry should not be biased, every artiste should be played based on their true talent and merit," he said.

The artiste who has performed at shows like Sting, Culture Vibration Taylor Hall, among other events, says that he wants his fans to keep the faith and desist from paying attention to the negative aspects that have marred his career. "Avoid the stigma and negativity, and pay attention to my music, melody and lyrical talent," he said.

The artiste says that he is currently constructing his studio called Crucial Konflict Records, and he is looking to release a rhythm for September.

Deva Bratt will also release a video soon for his single Paper Chase on the Push a Youth label.

The artiste says that he is still busy recording and assisting other artistes such as Rayna, Wendy, Lazabella, G Lac as well as his (Deva Bratt's) six-year-old son who is also an artiste named Yashweezi.
