RADIO AUTOPLAY... ON OR OFF???

I'M NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT THE RADIO ITSELF.. BUT THE AUTO PLAY FEATURE.IT NEEDS TO BE TURNED OFF!!! I LISTEN TO IT SOMETIMES WHEN THERE IS GOOD MUSIC ON OR A TALK SHOW, BUT WHY MUST WE BE FORCED TO LISTEN TO IT?? WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK???


REASONS WHY I WANT IT OFF:

1. IT'S ANNOYING WHEN YOU SWITCH TO OTHER PAGES.
2. I HAVE TO MUTE MY PC.
3. SOMETIMES THE MUSIC THAT IS BEING PLAYED SUCKS.

I DO USE ONE TAB, BUT WHEN EVER YOU SWITCH PAGES IT STARTS UP AGAIN... AND WHY DO YOU HAVE TO LOG OFF, YOU WANT THE MEMBERS OF THE SITE TO LOSE INTEREST IN IT???

Totally agree

Although more ppl will be listening to the radio I bet you people will open less pages as it is annoying to scroll up for every single link u click to shut off the radio. Not being a Wagonist or choosing any sides just speaking my mind

My opinion is that the radio stays on auto reason being:

1. Dj's will get more listeners to tune when they are playing. Imagine a dj playing for one or two hours and only get 10 listeners for the whole time wen the auto radio is off and as the auto radio is on he get over 80 listeners.

2. if you notice the site is starting to do promotions what if a company pays for a radio ads and the radio if off wen someone from that company comes to check? That will result in the site losing right?

Well true, but can there be a feature that let's you turn it off and keep it off until you want to listen to it, and still leave the radio to auto play if other members want that?

Can there be a thread made to show people how to turn it off if they don't want it on? I already figured it out for Google Chrome which is what i mainly use. I'll try dat on firefox.. How about internet explorer?

I'm not trying to stop it, DON'T TWIST up my words enzo, i'm not gonna repeat what i said earlier so just read what i post, I respect the fact that tings are going on good for zone... But let's be real now.

Lol Zone will always make more money from page HITS than it can ever make From Radio ads......dont underestimate the influence page hits have on the ranking and promotion of the site altogether.

1. More annoying a Website is to Navigate....fewer people will visit....and those visiting will be too annoyed to hit to many pages....Resulting in loss of revenue

2. I garantee you if you leave the radio on Auto play for 1 mnth and compare it to the page hits of the previous month you will see what i am saying.

3. It is up to the DJ to generate a following base and entertain his audience.....If he cant do so then he has no right either playing on the radio or he has to take his craft more serious.....The admins nor mods should not coerce ppl into listening to the radio.

HMTL AND Other web languages are successfull in that it can me manipulated to create navigation friendly environment for browsers......Using Javascript to force or annoy ppl into preeing the radio is a mistake.....Imaging using multi tabs and scrolling up ever time u refresh or open a new page to shut of an auto plugin......lclc

i completely agree with mafo. and furthermore:
- i know very well how i can disable the auto play, but i dont want to. options like using the stop auto play add on (which stops streams on EVERY site then) or disclaim the use of multiple tabs ARENT DECENT SOLUTIONS, as they reduce the functionality of the web browser. its absolutely NOT LOGICAL to turn OFF the radio every few seconds while browsing, if u dont want to listen, instead of turning it ON, in case u want to. especially when doing mod work its essential for me to use multiple tabs.
- next problem is, that all these players (especially the ones on auto play) DECREASE the quick and smooth flow of the site.
- MZJ is NOT a radio site,but a site, which offers multiple features, like download forums, discussion forums, live chat and radio. ppl have different motivations to come here and not everybody wants to listen to the radio, so why permanently forcing them to do so and making it really hard for them to browse through the forums?
- for the listener count: iŽd rather play for 10 people who really want to listen and turn in by themselves, instead of having 100 connected, who dont want to listen and just mute their pc (you can be absolutely sure that NOT everybody receiving the stream actually listens)
- u are paying a very high price (by decreasing the functionality of the site) for increasing the listeners count

it simply dem fi just keep it off and when anybody need fi hear it dem play it

becuz it can get annoying when every time u skip a page it plays.

I agree with these too...

FOR THOSE THAT SUPPORT AUTO PLAY... AT LEAST PUSH FOR ADDING A FUNCTION THAT LETS THE USER INDIVIDUALLY TURN IT OFF AND LEAVE IT OFF ONE TIME UNTIL THEY WANT TO LISTEN TO IT.

 

WHERE ARE THE ADMINS FOR ISSUES LIKE THESE???
