It was in 1999 that a group of friends which included Florida, based selector Super Blacks, Dave Henry and the McRae brothers, Ewan and Ted of Flava Squad Entertainment, decided to create and launch the Black Roze sound system.
Together, they worked passionately to establish Black Roze as one of the leading sound systems in Florida; the sound system quickly shot to prominence as a result of their ability to please the crowd where-ever they played, thus earning the nickname, the Flava Unit, from fans.
Black Roze's success has not been limited to Florida, as the sound has earned the respect of music lovers all over the US, and other parts of the world such as Canada and Europe. Over the years, Black Roze has won awards such as the Orlando Sound of the Year award and the Orlando Selector of the Year award. Black Roze has also been involved in several sound clashes with the likes of popular Jamaican sound systems such as Black Kat and Killamanjaro.
