A mother and her 15-year-old daughter are being investigated following the death of the child's father in Mountain View, St Andrew, recently.

The father, Franklin Jackson, from Jarrett Lane, died after he was reportedly beaten during an incident involving the two females. Police are awaiting the result of an autopsy, to decide whether the mother and daughter should be charged in connection with the death.

Information reaching THE STAR is that the teen and her father were involved in a bitter argument when the father took a piece of iron and slapped her across the head. It is reported that the child ran to her mother for assistance after the injury.

It is alleged that the mother confronted the father. During an ensuing argument, he was attacked and beaten all over his body.

Police said the man was seriously injured and had to be hospitalised. He died four days later.

The Star understands that Jackson, his common-law wife and daughter have been at odds since his return to the house a few months ago.

Residents told The Star that the child and the father started arguing after he reprimanded her for a lewd song she had as her phone's ring tone.
