Ethan 'Beenie Man' Morris a 32-year-old shop operator of Whitehall, Negril and Kevin 'Dessy' Bennett, 34, a labourer of Springfield, Westmoreland, were shot and killed in the parish yesterday.
Police said the two were at Morris' shop about 2:45 a.m. when three men with handguns approached and opened fire, hitting both men. Police, who were on patrol, found the men lying face down in a pool of *lo**. They were taken to the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
Hours earlier, Dwayne Taylor, a 21-year-old labourer of a St Ann address and Red Ground district in Negril, was shot dead in Grange Hill in the parish Sunday night.
Police said Taylor and four other men were at a shop watching television when six men, wearing masks and carrying guns and machetes, entered and demanded their cellular phones. They robbed one of the men of a Samsung phone valued at $2,500.
The men then opened fire at the group injuring everyone, the police said. Taylor died at the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital, while the other men were admitted in stable condition.
The Negril police are investigating both incidents.
