George Miguel Silvaro, the 23-year-old Dominican national accused of sexually molesting a 10-year-old boy, pleaded guilty when he appeared in the Mandeville Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Silvaro was arrested and charged after he was reportedly caught with the boy in a compromising position in the bathroom of a fast food restaurant in the parish.
During the hearing Silvaro told the court that he did touch the minor inappropriately but denied doing anything else to him.
Silvaro who is a member of the popular Colombian trade show which has visited the island on a number of occasions, was remanded in custody until July 13 when he will be sentenced.
On June 4, when the accused was being arrested, angry residents stormed the restaurant and the police station, with hopes of dishing out their own punishment to the accused. They were, however, prevented from doing so, but not before the windshield of a police car was damaged.
