Three policemen involved in the controversial shooting of four men in Falmouth, Wednesday night, have been removed from front-line duty and their firearms seized.

Head of the Trelwany police, Superintendent Linette Martin-Williams, last night confirmed the removal. The Bureau of Special Investigations (BSI) is probing the matter.

Residents claimed that the men, including two 17-year-old students of Holland High School, were killed in cold *lo**.

The dead men were identified as students Glendon and Glenroy Gordon, 17, who are twin brothers, Robert 'Gussy' Brown, 20, and Patrick 'Scrappie' Cunningham, 24.

Police reported that the the vehicle was intercepted and ordered to stop and the men came out firing on them. The fire was returned and the four were killed. Two firearms were seized in the incident, the police said.

But residents claimed an unmarked police vehicle travelled behind the car the men were in, ordered it to stop and then opened fire hitting the men.

In the aftermath of the shooting, residents mounted roadblocks in protest. These were eventually cleared by the police.
