Former Portmore Empire member Deva Bratt has recorded a bouncy single called Lisa Hype that plays up the oral skills of his former stablemate Lisa Hyper, using great word play and erotic metaphors that dancehall lovers will find amusing.
There are a few choice lines where Deva Bratt shows off the writing skills that made him such a revelation when he first came out with Bundle a Gal over two years ago.
He spits in true Deva fashion: "mi frighten, mi nearly froth yp like a Sprite/she put her mouth pon mi tap, mek pressure buss the pipe/ no need fi whipped cream or crushed ice/thank yu fi the picture, mi nah go put it pon no site'.
There's a neat bit of auto erotica in another verse when he deejays: "pop the hood of mi car/oil spew in her face when mi rev it yu know star".
The producer, JJ Wizzle, also uses a looped sample that shouts 'Lisa Hype, Lisa Hype' all over the track. Deva Brat almost sounds as if he is rapping, using standard English and changing his flow to perhaps create that crossover feel. He deejays "she say Deva Brat, mi ah go tek yu pon a flight/yea yea whatever, do it like Nike/I balls forward soon as she grab the mike'. But is he talking from personal experience that "she frisky wid her tongue and her rhymes dem tight'? Will Lisa respond?
