An Air Jamaica flight attendant who has been charged with breaches of the Customs Act is to appear in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court Monday.
The flight attendant was arrested last Wednesday after she was stopped and searched while clearing customs at the Sangster's International Airport in Montego Bay.
A bail application was made in Court on Friday but the prosecution objected, as her address could not be verified.
She was allegedly found with a number of undeclared commercial clothing and money amounting to more than US$10,000.
Acting on information from the arrest, Customs Enforcement Officers conducted a raid at a clothing store in the Sovereign Centre, Liguanea.
No importation document could be produced to prove that duties and taxes were paid for any of the items in the store.
All items have been seized, the store closed and the cash in the flight attendant's possession seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
