Plans are well under way for the official launch of Flava Squad Entertainment's HYPE 2K10 event to be held on the grounds of their office situated at 50 Dumbarton Avenue in St. Andrew.
The launch, set for this evening at 7 :00, promises to be nothing short of exciting as patrons will get an opportunity to mingle with several headliners including veterans Nitty Kutchie, Lukie D, Mad Cobra, the very controversial Lisa Hyper, Assassin, Konshens and new sensations Chedda and Khago, among others.
Hosting duties will be handled by ZJ Elektra from Zip FM.
HYPE 2K10 at Independence Park, Black River, St Elizabeth, set against the background of a day-and-night affair, will on April 3, unveil a family fun day and stage show with a host of activities for the children such as bounce-a-bout, go-carts, Ferris wheel and a mechanical bull. Other attractions include car stereo clashes, singing, deejaying and dance competitions. Added entertainment will be provided by Black Roze sound system and the Diamond Squad dancers.
misunderstanding
Later in the evening there will be a stage show featuring a stellar line-up, headlined by some of the biggest names in music including Vybz Kartel, Assassin, Lady Saw, Konshens, Khago, Delly Ranx, Nitty Kutchie, Lisa Hyper, Rastafarian and cultural singers Sizzla Kalonji, Jah Cure, I-Octane, Vybrant and Determine. Other acts include Pamputtae, Ishawna, New Kidz, Richie Innocent, Chedda, Don Sniper, Ras Oneily, Killer Don, Brimstone, Timmi Burrell, Sheriff, Delus and veteran deejay Peter Metro.
In an effort to clear a misunderstanding that deejay Busy Signal had been booked for the show, the management of Flava Squad Entertainment recently met with manager Shane Brown to iron out the issue.
"It was just a misprint of some old information regurgitated by the media from a previous staging when Busy Signal was a part of the line-up. I want to use this opportunity to make it clear to the public that he (Busy Signal) is not booked for the 2010 staging," explained Dave 'Tall Man' Scott, managing director.
