Some artiste managers are upset that deejay Capleton made a statement during his performance at Fantan Mojah's annual stage show, Reggae in the Valley which seemed to disrespect young artistes who he felt should have worked in the midnight slot and certainly not after 4 a.m.

"Mi feel like him ah disrespect the young artistes dem inna the business and nuff ah dem ah do well and ah hold dem own," one artiste manager said.

However, Capleton, defended himself during Ron Muschette's programme on IRIE this morning saying that he was not disrespecting young artistes, but then again, he did not want them to sabotage his own performance.

"Mi no waan work when sunlight because mi ah the fireman, mi need fi see mi torches dem," he told Muschette. "Mi respect and love every young artiste."

Standout acts during the Reggae in the Valley show were Singa J who got a major ovation for songs such as New Year's Day, and actually earned a much-deserved encore. The crowd also thoroughly enjoyed the performances of Richie Stephens, Coco Tea and Fantan Mojah. Ras Oneilly also performed well.

"We got a good-sized crowd but we never really made any money this year, but I am happy, it was a good show, incident-free and the people enjoyed themselves, mi haffi say Singa J tek the show, and Capleton really performed well too. Next year will be bigger and better," Fantan Mojah said, yesterday.
