VILLA BLOCK CHELSEA'S PATH TO FINAL

LAMPARD: Hit last season's Cup final winner
LAMPARD: Hit last season's Cup final winner

HOLDERS Chelsea must get past Aston Villa if they are to reach the final of the FA Cup again.

Goals from Frank Lampard and John Terry saw the Blues safely through against Stoke while Villa had to come from 2-0 down to win at Reading.

Martin O'Neill's side will be hoping to avenge their 2000 final loss to the Londoners and reach their second domestic final of the campaign.

The Midlanders defeated Chelsea at Villa Park this season and their manager was typically bullish when asked about the prospect of facing the favourites to lift the trophy.

He said: "We are delighted to be in the semi-finals of the FA Cup and we will take on anybody.

"Chelsea are one of the best sides in Europe but we will take them on.

"And we certainly don't fear them."

Harry Redknapp now knows that he will come up against former club Portsmouth at Wembley if his Tottenham side beat Fulham in their replay at White Hart Lane.

The semi-finals will both be played at the national stadium on the weekend of April 10/11.
