Operations officer for the St Catherine South Police Division, Deputy Superintendent Clive Blair, says that the police are on high alert as a result of threats issued against them.
"The police has intelligence of threats against the lives of police personnel. This is as a result of the fatal shooting of Ezron Morris a week ago," DSP Blair said.
Morris, 33, was killed after police claimed he shot at them. A policeman, Corporal Miguel Cuff, was also recently murdered in the division.
Blair said the recent threats are not being taken lightly and an investigation is underway.
The threats are said to be coming from persons in the Naggo Head community.
