A 21-year-old man was fined of $10,000 or six months in prison for touching a teenage girl in an inappropriate manner.
Corporate Area resident, Hernado Plummer, answered to assault occasioning bodily harm in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
He pleaded guilty with explanation to the charge.
Allegations are that on February 1, the accused man touched the teen in an inappropriate area as she headed to a nearby shop.
Plummer told the court he and the complainant were talking when she asked him why was he so close to her face? Plummer said he 'flashed her off' and, his hands touch her on her private part, however, he thought that he had touched her stomach and she slapped him in the face.
The complainant said, however, that Plummer has always been bothering her. She said he approached her and asked when she was going to give him the thing. She said his friends told him to touch her and he did.
She said after Plummer touched her, she slapped him in the face. He then hit her all across the body, a report was made and he was arrested and charged.
