Four accused armoured truck robbers remanded

Four persons who have been accused of stealing more than $40,000,000 from a Guardsman armoured truck in downtown Kingston, last month, were remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

The accused persons were identified as Dwayne Satchell, Tamara Kellerman, Errol Cameron and Clifton Kerr. The men, who are all of corporate area addresses, are charged with simple larceny and conspiracy.

The allegations are that Cameron ,who was employed to the Guardsman Security Company as a truck driver, went downtown with three security guards on January 15 to conduct daily operations.

During the course of duties, it is alleged that the three security guards exited the vehicle leaving Cameron in charge. However, when they returned to the vehicle, the sum of $42,000,000 was missing from the truck.

It is claimed that the company office was alerted and an investigation was immediately conducted. It is alleged that Cameron's phone was confiscated for analysis which revealed that he had made frequent calls to Satchell who was attached to the company and was Cameron's neighbour.

Allegations are that the sum of $10 million was later found on a property in St Catherine belonging to relatives of Kellerman, who is Satchell's girlfriend. It is further alleged that a motor vehicle and items of jewellery were also found.

The police believe that there are other vehicles to be recovered. All four persons were remanded and are to appear in court on March 15.
