Aidonia: I started from a young age. My father introduced me to music from young. From there I went to high school, made new friends who had the same dreams and goals as me, so from dere di whole JOP ting started. From desso di love for music, we start work and create our songs; afta high school we sey we ago tek it to di streets and to di studios.
STAR: What has been your greatest challenge in the music business?
Aidonia: Well di whole biasness and di whole fight of di music. Di business base offa different networks and different teams and stuff like dat, yuh know, weh put pressure on other artistes. But, at di end of the day, who have the most talent a go show. So a just di fight we get ova di years but we know good things come to those who wait, and di hotta di battle, di sweeta di victory; so it's great.
STAR: What have you been up to lately?
Aidonia: Well, as you can see, recording a lot of songs, working on di album yuh zimmi, just getting back di ting weh it suppose to deh fi di past couple of years. A lot of songs, lot of singles, lot off juggling, album work and stuff like dat. Did di Evil Head video and still working on more. Just a lot of things ... JOP di main focus right now. Suhverto yuh zimmi him done pierce di system. Him jus need to stay consistent and stuff like dat and get more work out deh. Working wid di other rest of artistes yuh done know Shane-O, yuh done know Diablo, Ice Dem and di work go on and on - JOP.
STAR:Do you look up to any specific artiste and why?
Aidonia: Well, definitely Bounty Killer him a di main artiste, but yuh know Shabba Ranks, Buju Banton, Baby Cham, Baby Wayne, Sizzla Kalonji, whole heap of people. Why, each artiste fi a different reason is either vocal like Bounty Killer, Shabba Ranks, Buju Banton, lyrical content, stage presence, so we look up to different artistes fi different reasons, different tings weh we like weh each artiste do.
STAR: Are you happy with the way things are going for your music career right now?
Aidonia: Well, definitely, 'cause like since April to now we've been putting hard work into di music and its been definitely paying off 'cause we started di year like eighth or ninth and at di end of di year we deh inna di top three, so we love how things a go and how it look and what's there for the future.
STAR: Do you have any advice for young artistes coming up?
Aidonia: Well, definitely yuh haffi stay true to yuh self, yuh haffi stay true to di music, yuh haffi love music fi di music itself and not di fame or stuff like dat. Nuh mek nuh body tell yuh sey yuh can't do it. Hard work a di key to success, keep on striving for betta ways and betta days and betterment of yourself and yuh career. Hard work everyway, stay loyal to yourself and yuh will see better days.
STAR: Where do you see yourself in the future?
Aidonia: Well, we a strive fi greatness yuh zimmi. Wid di hard work we putting in, we want people to can look back and say well Aidonia over di years always give we good work, always stay consistent wid di music, always a get betta, yuh zi weh me a sey. Fi di future we jussa work on being a better artiste, on being a better person, just betterment of Aidonia, JOP.
