"It's either di jail house or Sting fi Goofy," says graffiti artiste extraordinaire LA Lewis, to the announcement that he will be clashing with Mr G at Sting 2009.

Jamworld, Portmore, will be seeing a showdown of an unusual kind as dancehall artiste Mr G, formerly known as Goofy, faces off against recent nemesis LA Lewis. It was reported last month that Mr G was in trouble with the law after allegedly using his licensed firearm to assault fellow deejay LA Lewis.

The incident reportedly occurred at a business place on Old Hope Road in the Kingston 6 area.

Reports are that Mr G had an altercation with his fellow deejay over money owed to him. It is alleged that when Lewis, real name Horace Lewis, failed to pay over the money, Mr G grabbed Lewis' phone, a Motorola Sidekick said to value US$500. Further reports are that Lewis tried to retrieve the phone from Mr G but was slapped on the hand with a firearm.

The incident was reported to the Matilda's Corner Police Station.

Now, LA Lewis is willing to settle the matter outside of court, dropping the case against Mr G if he clashes him at Sting.

Having approached Sting promoter Isaiah Laing about the clash, Laing met with Mr G and Lewis yesterday at his office and the clash was signed off by both parties.

When THE STAR spoke to a confident Lewis yesterday, who said: "Goofy don't have no chance at Sting. Him violate and we'll see if him brave enough to show up fi di clash. Is not LA Lewis him a go face, dat's di businessman, he's going up against the seven star general."

An equally confident Mr G was not worried either when contacted, saying: "Dat brother deh a boost up himself to get write off. Him sey him want a clash and put me in the mix-up. I don't know weh dem planning but me a guh flatten him, people a go come to di burial service for him."

Mr G says he started his career since King Jammy's time and is a hardcore deejay. When asked how people would react to the news of the clash, Mr G said: "People love di mix-up and excitement so we gonna indulge them. Christmas season we go mek dem merry. People a go surprise sey Mr G mussi go mad to clash wid dat lunatic."
