The Alliance dominated Survivor rhythm, from DJ F****, tackles serious issues in the post summer music season.

Premiered last Wednesday by ZJ Liquid on 'Fresh to Death' Wednesdays, Survivor is the second rhythm to be released by DJ F****, who saw success earlier this year with the Clearance rhythm. The Clearance rhythm featured the popular Dem Alone from Mavado, Rodney Intention from Bounty Killer and Better Days by Chase Cross. When The STAR spoke with DJ F**** recently, he explained that both rhythms were made for him by producer Russian from Head Concussion Music.

Similar to the Clearance rhythm, Survivor has a slightly dark undertone but is easier to move to. The rhythm features 11 artistes, most of whom are Alliance members. According to F****, no Portmore Empire artistes were allowed to voice on the rhythm. He said, "a gully mi sey straight, there was no intention of voicing Gaza on the rhythm. "Mi rate Jah Vinci but mi nuh have no intention of voicing him."

While there are no particularly outstanding songs on the rhythm that will grab instant attention, there are strong songs from the likes of Elephant Man, Mr Vegas, Bugle, Flexx and Mavado. Named after Chase Cross' track Survivor, the new comer from the Gully Squad talks about being born and raised through struggles yet keeping a clean record in the title song. Also from the Gully Squad, Deejay Flexx's Gullyside College, a kind of 'gallis anthem', is one of the few female oriented songs on the rhythm.

In Psalms A Day, Bugle talks about the ills of the music industry having to deal with 'bad mind' people. He sings, "dem nuh waan hear we sing high notes...just read a psalms a day, tek time out and pray. Mavado's Fall Rain Fall is similar in theme to Bugle's song while the normally dance-oriented Elephant Man takes on a bad man persona in his Do It Nuh deejaying, "who some boy sey dem a go diss outta street...do it nuh..dem only bad inna dem clique." Vegas also represents well tackling homosexuality in Run We Weh.

F**** is confident in his latest effort saying, "its getting a good response on radio, Clearance created a buzz, so I expect this to be even hotter than Clearance. Bounty Killer suppose to soon a voice on it as well." He plans to release his next yet to be titled rhythm in November.
