The man seh di ting "Worse than politics"! Music, worse than politics? Come on now, I think that's taking it a little too damn far.

As for the "Identity issues", that's nothing new. Youths need various outlets in every community to become well-rounded individuals.

Any sensible listener/fan of music weh say Gaza or Gully, will not use violence to promote their loyalty to one side or another.

This article ain't gonna change nuttin. Like Pun seh, nuff man nah go even read it.

I'm gonna step out on a limb and say this: "Jamaica has bigger problems than Gaza and friggin Gully". Don't believe me, then watch the documentary "Life and Debt", and then come check me later.

its worse than politics, because it doesnt change anything. when u take part in a politcal conflict and you support your party, u may have a result at the end, a political change. a musical conflict leads nowhere, it might help u to satisfy your "competitive ambitions" but in the end everything stays the same.
as for the "bigger problems" u talking about: thats the main issue. people are wasting their time and energy in a battle, which helps noone, instead of focusing on their real problems. and that applies the most for the social weak areas, which needed some change urgently. and these people arent the sensible music listeners, u talking about.

Ok, I see your point Shotta.  But this is Jamaica we talking about here.  There has been no significant improvement in the standard of living of a large number of Jamaicans for quite some time now, as a result of politics.  Ever since we gained our independence, the country has been going downhill.

Every time election come around, I think to myself, why doesn't EVERYBODY see what I see?  Why all this violence for your party?  What happens when the election is over?  The same damn 'ting.

I wish next election, nobody weh really want change goes out and cause no violence, and most importantly, do not vote for someone you know is not going to change anything.  Jamaica politics need some new, young *la*hd.  Jamaica as a whole need a new generation of young political minds to step in and really make the changes that need to be made.

Real talk: Jamaicans are too damn selfish more time.  Nuff people can't even see beyond the end of them road, much less, caring enough to bring good to the entire country.

Thats the problem zeeks. The leaders of the country themselves are not even concerned about the betterment of the country. They go into political office for their own selfish gain. Makes me wonder how people don't feel bad when all of them voted to make their MP win the constituency and den see di same man weh yu vote fah a drive tru inna big big convertible benz when the roads in the constituency need fixing.

nonono i didnt intent to justify violence in any case (neither for music nor for politics). i just wanted to point out, why the man, who is quoted in this article, said music would be worse than politics.
