On September 5, 2009 New York City's leading event promoters Upscale Crowd will venture where no promoter has dared to venture before. In a never before seen event, the promoters have booked dancehall rivals Beenie Man and Bounty Killer to perform on the same stage in New York City.
After a 17 year rivalry between the "King of the Dancehall" and the "WarLord", which began in 1992, fans thought they would never live to see the day when both DJs would perform on the same stage.
The two, who have performed with other artists on a line-up in Jamaica and around the world, have never performed on the same stage in which they are the only two featured acts, dubbing this History in the Making.
Both Beenie Man and Bounty Killer have enjoyed success spanning more than 30 years between them both. Beenie has released over 22 studio albums and 44 chart topping singles while Bounty has released over 13 studio albums and approximately 20 hit singles.
And though their styles differ, in that Beenie's songs are geared more toward the female crowd while Bounty's is more hard core tunes for the men, they have remained at odds.
Now, in a not to be missed event, the two will grace the stage at Roseland Ballroom, 239 West 52nd Street, New York, NY 10019.
