It is said that confession is good for the soul but for 18-year-old Oshane Blair it has cause d him to face multiple charges.
Blair is alleged to have told members of his community and the police about the rape of a 75-year-old.
The accused of a Harkers Hall district, St Catherine, address is charged with burglary, rape, buggery and assault occasioning bodily harm.
He was remanded when he appeared in the Linstead Resident Magistrate's Court last Wednesday to answer the charges. Allegations are that on July 7 about 2 a.m., the accused broke into the house of the elderly woman and the acts of violence were carried out against her.
The complainant is said to have been severely beaten during the ordeal.

Following the incident the police were called by concerned residents who claimed that the accused confessed to them that he carried out the act.
During last week's court case the RM was told by the police that the accused man also gave confessed doing the crime to them.
Having heard the allegations, the accused was remanded to reappear in court on September 2.
He was not represented by an attorney when he appeared.
