A taxi driver said to be in his mid-40s and a student were yesterday killed and five students of Vere Technical High School injured in an tragic car accident along the top Halse Hall main road in Clarendon.
Police identified the cabbie as Ilchie Hanson. His address has not yet been ascertained. The student's identity was not release.
Police say about 3:45 p.m., Hanson was driving a Toyota Corolla motor car with the six students on-board towards May Pen when the vehicle collided with a truck.
He died and the students were taken to hospital. The condition of their injuries could not be ascertained up to press time.
On Wednesday, two students Remonia Allen and Thristauna McKinley, both eight, from the Howard Cooke Primary School in Montego Bay, St James, and a taxi driver Winston Jarrett, 42, died in a car accident along the Round Hill main road in Hanover.
Police say about 3:50 p.m. while it was raining heavily, Jarrett's Corolla developed a skid, swerved across the road and collided with another Corolla. The two girls were passengers in Jarrett's vehicle.
