windows xp Blue Screen Of Death

Im in a crisis right now. I accidently deleted the WINLOGON.EXE and now i cant load my computer past the logging part. in fact  that doesnt even show. Instead a blue screen shows up saying :   STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} The windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000034 (0x00000000 0x00000000).  i cant even get through this in safe mode.  Does anyone have any solutions

the best thing to do is to restore the C drive with the XP disk or if you don't have anything to lose or have a partition drive format the whole think and run on a fresh copy of what ever OS you use

3 possible solutions (try dem in this order)

1. get another winlogon.exe
copy winlogon.exe from another pc & put it on yours.
If you can't do it in safe mode (prompt mode) then you have to put your harddisk into another pc (that works & works with the same OS) & boot from the working OS. Then copy winlogon.exe from the good OS to the bad.
Put your harddisk back in your computer & try to boot again... should work right now

2. last known good config
press F8 when the pc boots (but for this you'll need a restore point, set before you deleted winlogon.exe) & choose last known good config

3. try to recover....

boot from Windows XP install cd
when asked, choose R to recover
you'll get a ms-dos-screen (with prompt)
choose the right windows folder (type '1')
enter your admin password
now u are given a prompt (C:\....)
there you type CHKDSK -R (watch the space between K & -)
now windows is being recovered (no datafiles will be removed, i only tries to fix your OS)

when the prompt is given again type EXIT (pc will reboot, it should work properly now)

4. if the problem isn't solved, you'll have to reinstall your OS (boot from CD & install windows, the cd will ask to format the drive...)

bless

try using a linux based live cd that way you can backup all the files and stuff you need then more than likely if a repair does not work after running it from a windows cd reformat the hard drive and when you all done run a hd diagnostics test see if it is a hardware issue or not.
