Detectives from the Half-Way Tree Police Station have commenced a probe into the shooting death of a man at Red Hills Road, Kingston 10, on Monday.

The dead man has been identified as Tarik Hewitt of Red Hills Road.

The police reported that about 3:45 p.m., residents summoned the police to the community after hearing several explosions. Sleuths who went to the scene conducted a search of the area and found Hewitt's bullet-riddled body in a yard.

The crime scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for post-mortem.

Up to late yesterday, police had not identified any suspect(s) or establish a motive for the killing.
