Mavado is scheduled to perform in St.Kitts during June. I know the christian council will probably try to stop it but it's gonna be hard as the gov't is apart of the festivals' organization.
Yes fans can get pissed about the governments banning these artists but it's for the well-being of the people. I am a fan of both artist and I would love to see them both perform. It's the influence that the music have on the young people. I've gone to parties, clubs and street jams. When a kartel and mavado song play the place gone maddd. The young people dem a behave like a set a idiot; gone to start fight and all kinda f**kery. It's like they can't listen to the music and act like civilized people. Y'all would have to see it to understand where I'm coming from. At times I just have to shake my head at their behaviour. Nuff times Deejays have to change the riddim all together or play something a little more conscious or just go back to gal chune.
What most of the government officials believe is that having the artist there in person can cause more damage. If the youth dem a behave so aggressive just for the music then what gonna happen when they see the artist in person? It's all apart of a bigger picture some of us won't understand it but until the youths can conduct themselves a little better then the governments won't have a choice.
