ONLINE PIRACY & JAMAICA'S MUSIC

O N L I N E  P I R A C Y  &  J A M A I C A ' S  M U S I C

Todays Jamaica Observer newspaper features a Steven Jackson article titled Music Stakeholders Concerned About Online Piracy. It takes a look at the impact of file-sharing sites (such as thepiratebay.org) on Jamaicas music industry. Jeremy Harding (manager of international deejay Sean Paul), Christopher Edmunds (of Rebelmix, a legal online music site) and Evon Mulling (head of the Jamaica Musical Society - JAMMS) are quoted in the article. Check it out in detail here.

"Right now even producers are giving their music for free anyway. I get publicists and producers bandolooing their own stuff, forgoing the sales in order to get the hype"
