Earlier this week in Montego Bay, two sound system operators and two event promoters were arrested and charged with breaches of the Noise Abatement Act, as the St. James police are seemingly clamping down on illegal dances. Two dances in the inner-city community of Flankers were shut down by the police, and the sound system operators and promoters arrested. In the wake of multiple killings at two dances in that parish last month, several other events have also been raided by the Montego Bay police.
