Fire razes section of Wisynco factory

MORE than 200 Wisynco workers are now displaced after a fire Thursday which razed a section of the firm's Twickenham Park, St Catherine factory.

But managing director William Mahfood said the workers' salaries will not be affected as they
are covered by the company's insurer.

"The factory will be closed for about six weeks and about 200 workers will be affected, but our insurance will cover their wages," Mahfood told reporters as firemen from the Spanish Town and Kingston fire departments worked to contain the blaze.
