JAMMS (the Jamaica Music Society) is getting serious about unlicensed business that play or broadcast recorded music in public. In recent times, they have been running ads in the local media stating:

Is your business or event properly licensed . under the Copyright Act of Jamaica, you will be infringing copyright unless you are appropriately licensed to play (or broadcast) recorded music in public.

This legal requirement therefore applies to all businesses such as nightclubs, bars, restaurants, shops, show promoters, stores etc.

Theyre encouraging the relevant business to apply for a license today. Visit jammsonline.com for more information about this new push.
