Popular dancehall entertainer, Ninja Man whose real name is Desmond Ballentine was yesterday charged with conspiracy to murder and shooting with intent.

When 876radio.com contacted the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) a senior investigator advised that the deejay was charged Friday evening after being interrogated in connection with the murder of Ricardo Johnson, 20, otherwise known as "Ricky Trooper".

Mr. Johnson was killed Monday at his house in Olympic Gardens in Kingston, allegedly by one of three men who were travelling in a motor car.

Ninja Man surrendered to the police Thursday afternoon in the presence of his lawyer after initially denying the allegations that he was involved in the crime.

According to the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) It is reported that at approximately 11:15am Tuesday morning three men in a grey motor car drove up to the home of Johnson aka 'Ricky Trooper' (not the sound system selector) where an argument developed that turned into an altercation. The vehicle then drove off and returned later where the occupants alighted and opened fire, hitting Johnson. He was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
