A warrant has been issued for a taxi driver accused of attempting to give a policeman $2,000 to drop a traffic violation.
Carlton Webb, from Portmore, St Catherine, was reportedly seen at the Portmore Mall on February 27, soliciting passengers for a motor car.
Webb was given a ticket but allegedly offered money to Special Constable Chadrick Dora, who he reportedly told, "Tek da two grand ya an mek mi feel nice."
It is reported that he pushed four $500 bills into the special constable's hand.
the policeman called his superior and related what transpired. Webb was arrested and charged with attempted bribery.
He was to appear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on March 10. however, when his name was called, he was nowhere to be found. As a result, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
