The body of an unidentified female, wrapped in a garbage bag, was fished from the Duhaney River, Six Miles, Kingston 11, on Thursday.
The body is of dark complexion, slim build and about 162 centimetres long.
Reports from the Constabulary Communication Network are that about 2:50 p.m., a passersby saw the body and called the police. The body was fished from the river and close inspection revealed gunshot wounds. The feet were bound by a piece of rope. The body was removed to the morgue for post-mortem.
The Seaview Gardens police who are investigating theorise that the woman might have been killed elsewhere and the body dumped in the river.
