A 32-Year-Old BUSINESSMAN was shot & his BMW stolen in broad daylight in the basement of the busy New Kingston Shopping Centre yesterday. The victim, a project manager at a local financial institution, has been admitted in hospital in serious condition. He was shot twice. Police say about 3:20 pm.,the victim, who had advertised his car for sale, met up with two female prospective buyers in the basement of the mall. He took the women for a test drive, returned to the parking area and went to have lunch with a friend in a nearby restaurant. While there, the women reportedly called him to say that they left a phone in his car. He, along with a friend, made checks & no phone was found. He then went back to complete his lunch.
Explosions
After completing lunch, he went to the parking lot. His friend, who was approaching the basement heard explosions and saw two women running and a man driving away in the pink champagne BMW, licence plate 4054 EZ. The driver of the stolen vehicle drove through a security barrier & escaped.The robber fled leaving a BMW that he reportedley drove to the scene. The police are advising persons selling thiere vehicles to be cautious when making arrangements with prospective buyers. The police warn that it is best to meet in a crowded place and to get some means of identifying the interested persons as this information may prove useful in a police investigation.
