Milan were on the verge of losing their star man Kaka to Manchester City in the winter transfer period, but to the huge relief of all concerned at the club, the deal fell through after Silvio Berlusconi stepped in at the very last moment to halt negotiations.

In a recent interview with Sportsmediaset, the Brazilian has once again reaffirmed that parting ways with the Rossoneri was never a likely option, although he did consider leaving at one stage.

I thought about what I had won here, and also the things that I still want to win in these colours, and because of that, I couldnt leave, Kaka declared in the interview.
