It was a nasty pile-up on Foreshore Road west of Falmouth Monday afternoon when a Guardsman armoured vehicle collided into a parked motor car. Witnesses said the armoured vehicle was in the process of overtaking two vehicles when it hit the unoccupied car, careened off the road and hit a building before ending belly-up. Luckily, the four occupants survived and none of the contents were lost but a rescuer said the lone female passenger lost a finger while the others suffered severe head injuries. A businessman defied death as he slept on a sponge in his office. He was awaken when the vehicle hit the wall, which came down on him, the vehicle stopped centimetres away from his head. Police blamed the accident on speedinf and have appealed to motorist to cut their speed.
