A 25 year-old man who resides in the Shettlewood  community situated between the border of Hanover and St. James received the shock of his life when he was accosted and given  a sound beating on Sunday night,  after he was caught leaving the house of a female resident with a Lada bag containing several panties (underwear) belonging to the woman.

Sherlock Holmes journeyed to the community and spoke to the woman who related that she was satisfied with just giving the accused a sound beating and was not very interested in pursuing the matter much further. However, she still gave an account of this intriguing incident to the reporter.

According to her, on Sunday afternoon about 7: 30 p.m., she went to visit a family member who resides in the neighboring community of Ramble. When she arrived at her relatives house, he was not there so she journeyed back home and reached her gate at approximately 9 p.m.

On reaching her gate, a male friend called out to her and she started a jovial conversation with him. A few minutes later, the friend asked her if there was anyone in her house and informed her that he had heard strange noises coming from a section of a room at the rear. She told him she was alone at home but at that same instance she too heard the strange sounds.
The woman further stated that the friend accompanied her and they both silently walked to the back of the house where she noticed that a window was forced open. She reached for a machete which she had in her yard and her companion reached for a piece of wood as they both quietly entered the house.

On entering the bedroom, she saw a man with a Lada bag in his hand going through her dresser draw. She immediately lashed out at him and the man ran for the open window but was held by the womans companion. To her surprise, the robber turned out to be a taxi operator whom she knew quite well and who on a regular basis made passes at her (sexual advances).

She asked him what he was doing in her house and before he could answer she slapped him several times with the machete. What came next came was a shock to her. As she dragged the bag from him and investigated what he had stolen from her house, she found the bag filled with over fifteen of her panties (underwear).

Mi nah tell u no lie, missa reporter, me haffi  gi the boy a dozen slap and mi frien whop up some lick under him skin,  said the woman who remarked that they later marched him from the house and from her yard onto the roadway. She again started to beat him and he begged for his life while shouting out to her that he was sorry and not to tell anyone what he had done.
