A little baby girl has just made her entrance into to the world via Erykah Badus oft-used birth canal:

My first child, my daughter, was born at 1:30 p.m. exactly. Its the happiest day of my life, Jay wrote in a text

He also gave updates before, and during labor. Getting closer. She says she feels like shes ready to push, he wrote, before updating a couple hours later with I see the head. Full of hair.

According to Erykah, it was a home birth. She used no pain killers, and the labor took around five hours to complete.

I cant believe its over, she wrote.

While the name is yet to be confirmed, Erykah wrote in a text that the babys name is Twitty Milk.

The couples relationship has been relatively low-key. However, last year, the two were the subject of criticism by fans over Badus relationship history. In addition to the new baby, Badu also has children with rappers Andre 3000 of Outkast, and west coast rapper The D.O.C.

Despite the negativity, the two seem happy.
