Yesterday the offices of 876radio.com was b****arded with phone calls and emails regarding a story being circulating via the internet by a popular website.
According to the story/rumour, Alliance bad boy Mavado and members of his entourage were allegedly involved in an altercation that saw him and his crew being beaten at an event at the popular La Roose venue in Portmore St. Catherine.
It's alleged that the incident started when the selector began playing a series of Vybz Kartel songs and in disapproval Mavado and his cronies started to boo and hurl bottles at the sound system. The irate promoter then ordered that the entrance be closed and that's when the melee ensued. According to the website Mavado and his right hand man were boxed while members of his entourage where thoroughly beaten.
They also claim that the Warlord Bounty Killer who was in the venue became very disgruntled with his protege for exuding such disrespectful behaviour to the promoters of the event.
However when 876radio.com contacted the management of both entertainers for clarity, he quickly dispelled the incident as being mere rumours and a ploy by Alliance detractors to assassinate his clients character.
According to Alliance Publicist Julian Jones-Griffiths,
" It's strange how this rumour originated and is circulating only on one website, but then again not strange when you realise the website is run/written by the publicist of a rival camp. Their ulterior motive is to throw up a negative rumour to cloud the fact that Mavado's 'So Special' video is being premiered on 106 & Park on Monday, whilst their artiste is still relying on diss songs to get airplay."
"Nobody put their hands on Mavado or any of his entourage, simple. I spoke to the promoter of the event, who is a friend of Mavado and mine, who assured me that there was no physical confrontation between him and Mavado or any of Mavado's entourage. He also assured me Mavado did not throw any bottles, he was already walking out of the venue when a bottle was thrown. This website proves yet again they are not to be taken seriously." - Jone-Griffiths added.
