Freddie McGregor interacting with one of his many fans.
Phone and online chat sessions gave the McGregor family an opportunity to interact with fans and well-wishers on Tuesday at the Gleaner Company.
"The boss," Freddie McGregor and his children Shema, Chino and Stephen, spent two hours talking to fans via the Internet and telephone.
During the online chat session, the McGregors were flooded with questions, Shema especially.
Big Ship artiste
"Shema, how the boyfriend get pass daddy and the brothers, dem protective?" was one of the many questions the budding Big Ship artiste was asked.
Others asked her about her beautiful skin, touring and a prospective album.
On the telephone lines, the questions were similar.
Freddie was asked many questions about his musical journey. He was also asked about the child (Shema), whom he had with singer Judy Mowatt.
Chino said his questions were ridiculous. He was asked what he would do if he was police commissioner for a day. His response, "free up the 2 o'clock curfew."
On the phone he received calls from many female fans.
"I got all female calls. Somebody ask mi if mi nuh want a wife, somebody fi cook mi cornmeal porridge and plait mi hair," said Chino.
Stephen was asked mainly business questions. There were several persons apparently calling to get a 'buss' in the music business or simply asking for advice.
At the end of it all, the McGregor bunch really enjoyed the session.
"It was nice. Everything criss. Mi enjoy the online chat. We were getting a chance to talk to our fans and to interact with them. I am glad we did that," Freddie McGregor told THE STAR.
