Dancehalls former first Lady, DAngel last night (Nov. 12th) held a video launch for her latest single Stronger at the renowned Jankanoo Lounge at the Hilton Hotel in New Kingston.
The leggy beauty accompanied by her mother, grandmother and son, was well supported by the local and international Reggae Fraternity who turned out in numbers to see her latest video release.
The high quality video directed by creative mastermind Ras Tingle, was beautifully shot on various locations throughout Jamaica and edited to immerse viewers into connecting with the artiste. It was undoubtedly a raving success based on the crowd response that cheered and clapped during the viewing.
Her son Marco Dean made a cameo appearance in the video much to the delight of media and press personnel in attendance at the event.
Noted attendees were; The Reggae Institutes Dr. Carolyn Cooper, who made an introduction before the videos premier, Dancehall King Beenie Man, Urban Legend LA Lewis, Sly Dunbar of Taxi Records, Yolan Zanders of VP Records Jamaica, and MPV Production executive Leana Tomlinson.
DAngel started her career in the 90s as a model for urban clothing brand Rocawear before pursuing a musical career in the Reggae industry.
In 2005 she made her mark with the hit single Downtown Girl Uptown Life, which eventually made its way to number one in Jamaica. In 2006 she married self proclaimed King of the Dancehall, Beenie Man and despite a very public split; she persevered and released her 2007 hit single Blaze, on the Fresh Ear productions imprint.
Her debut album Blessed Child is set for release early 2009
