Rudolph Kerr, 47, a farmer of Camp Savannah in Grange Hill, Westmore-land, was gunned down at his home shortly after 4 a.m. yesterday.
The Sunday Gleaner understands that Kerr, who lived with his teenage son and daughter, attended a wake for his neighbour who was also gunned down a few weeks ago. Kerr left the wake shortly after 4 a.m. for home. Patrons at the wake reportedly heard gunshots, but ignored it, believing that persons were merely celebrating in that manner.
The gunmen reportedly entered Kerr's home, shortly after he arrived, by removing three of the wooden louvres in the window. He sought refuge under his bed but his attackers shot him in the head, killing him on the spot.
The Morgan's Bridge police have not established a motive for the killing. However, they are warning residents to bolt their wooden windows.
