I couldnt help but laugh when I read this story on the Jamaica Observer website. Mexican journalists ejected from Jas training session

It turns out that the two camera men who were asked not to film the Reggae Boyz during their training decided to get the footage anyway. This outraged technical director Rene Simoes and others who insist that both men leave immediately after they were saw taping. Others agreed and it was adios senor to both spies journalists.

There has been reports that our Mexican amigos are worried or concern that Jamaica might make them fight in this group to qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. The Mexican coach Mr Sven-Goran Ericksson is quoted as saying:

I am a bit worried about them (Jamaica)They are strong, tall, robust and powerful. I believe they proved themselves in the draw against Canada. I respect them a lot.I dont know how prepared they are But whatever shape they turn up in, we have to win.

Frankly I dont know if he is just trying to lower expectations in his own country or maybe he really is worried.Mexico is a top ranking country on the FIFA tables and there is no doubt that Jamaica is the underdog . After Beijing however the world is sitting up and taking notice as we emerge as stronger sports nation.

Yes siree, Jamaica is ready to kick ass and take names.

Make no mistake Mexico is a football powerhouse in the world. We can expect a really good game tomorrow which by the way will be played at, as the Jamaica Observer puts it the feared Azteca Stadium in Mexico City . The game was supposed to be played at the National Stadium aka the office but Hurricane Gustav decided spoil our plans. Gustav inflected damage on the stadium so FIFA changed the game to the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. Because they had to change this home game for Jamaica to an away game for us. The match scheduled for October 11^th,2008 in Mexico City, will now be played in Kingston, Jamaica.

So the boys head off to the big and scary Azteca Stadium in Mexico City tomorrow. If my memory serves me right wasnt this the venue of the football brawl Jamaica had with Mexico when we were on the road to France in 1998. We are not afraid the ball is round.
