A TODDLER died after plunging more than 30ft from a flat window, police said today.
The 23-month-old boy is believed to have fallen from the fourth floor at a tower block in Tottenham, north London, on Friday.
He died from his injuries the next day.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: A post-mortem established cause of death as massive head injuries.
The child lived in a block of flats known as Croydon, on the Broadwater Farm Estate in Gloucester Road, police said.
A spokesman added: The 23-month-old boy fell approx 10 metres (33ft).
He was taken by London Ambulance Service to Royal London Hospital with a fractured skull and was later transferred to Great Ormond Street Hospital, where he subsequently died.
Detectives based in Stratford were investigating, he added.
A £33million redevelopment programme recently took place on the estate, which will forever be associated with rioting that resulted in the murder of Pc Keith Blakelock.
Those riots, 23 years ago, were sparked when the community was angered by the death of resident Cynthia Jarrett who suffered heart failure when officers burst into her home during a police raid.
