A BOY aged six has died after his dad accidentally ran him over in a JCB.
Little Bobby Eastwood was hit by the mechanical digger while playing at his familys farm.
His desperate dad Bob, who is in his 20s, raced to help but the lad later died in hospital from his injuries.
The family, who run a civil engineering firm, were last night too upset to speak about the tragedy.
Phil Filmer, a neighbour in High Halstow, near Rochester, Kent, said: Its left the whole community absolutely devastated. They are a very tight-knit family and the parents of the little boy live in the same smallholding as the grandparents. I spoke to the grandad about it and obviously he was very upset.
Phil added: I dont know exactly what happened, I just know it involved a digger. Its all so tragic.
Another neighbour said: Everyone knows everyone else around here and were all devastated by Bobbys death. He was a lovely little lad.
I dont know how Bob will get over what happened. It must be terrible for him and the entire family.
The Eastwood family business, called Bepcon, is run by Bobbys grandparents Ben and Lynn.
Police confirmed they were not treating the tragedy as suspicious.
