Teen in fatal stabbing attack

AN 18-YEAR-OLD man was stabbed to death in east London today.
Charles Junior Hendricks was found by police in Walthamstow at 1.40am.

A police spokesman said: The victim was taken by London Ambulance to Whipps Cross Hospital.

He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Two youths were arrested near the scene off Selborne Road and are in police custody, the Met said.

Acting Detective Chief Inspector John Sandlin said: I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the murder to please contact police with any information you may have.

The incident happened close to a well lit bus garage in Walthamstow Central."

Tributes

A pile of flowers had been left outside a park near the site of the crime.

One tribute read: We love you so much. You have left a gap in our hearts and you will be missed every second of every day!! We will miss the sunshine that you brought to our lives. We love you.

Another card said: To my darling CJ. Well miss your smile so much. RIP babe.

Love you always, Karen and Natalie.

A further tribute said: To CJ, I will never forget you. You will always be there in my memories, in my heart. You will be missed. Words cannot say. RIP. Luke and family.

One of the two arrested - a 17-year-old - received hospital treatment for a minor slash wound to the arm before being taken to an east London police station.

The other person arrested, in his late teens or early 20s, was also taken to an east London police station, police said.

Police also today launched a murder inquiry after a 21-year-old man died from serious injuries.

West Midlands Police said they had cordoned off parts of the centre of Wolverhampton after the man was found with serious injuries at 4am today.

He was taken to New Cross hospital where he later died.

A police spokeswoman said: A murder inquiry has been launched.

A number of locations in the Wolverhampton city centre area have been secured for forensic examination.

Police said the man was not shot but did not say how he died or where he was attacked.
